For security, files in storage are no bigger than 1GB, this is a requirement of not accepting malicious payloads above a certain size, along with our brass bollocks firewall. Because of this, compressed downloads on our platform have a 1GB max size and are usually split into parts if the source is larger than 1GB.

In addition to this, download links last no longer than 3600 seconds or 1 hour before the link will time-out & self destruct. They are also encrypted.

You will still be able to access your download at any time from within your dashboard & create a new link.

So, in theory, this all means that in order to use our platform optimally without interruption, there is a theoretical minimum speed we require. This is 2.222 Mbit/s.

If your broadband is no faster than 2.2Mbit/s then you're out of luck if you're downloading a file that is 1GB in size. There can be fluctuations & other factors at play so we recommend a minimum speed of 5Mbit/s for an optimal experience on The Patchbay.

This will also ensure you get the best experience from our site cache technology.
